About

I love to learn.

Whether it’s understanding the mechanics of running, how to approach wild animals, or writing a song, the joy of learning has brought me down many walks of life. It wasn’t till I realized that I also love to write, that I thought I should combine the two.

My goal has been to discover hidden knowledge. Whether its a completely new idea, or even old concept reinvisioned - I want to share new understanding. An understanding that can change lives, as mine has been already changed by things I’ve read.

It’s said that we stand on the shoulders of giants, and I couldn’t agree more. Among others, thanks to the likes of a variety of anthropologists, journalists, and even some ‘ordinary’ people, my understanding of the world has changed for the better. Christopher McDougall in his enthralling “Born to Run” revealed how every human has the potential to run ultramarathons, and divulged the truth of our false dependency on the modern shoe. In “Deep” by James Nestor, one learns that any human is capable of holding their breath for several minutes, due to a biological reflex innate in every human. Wade Davis in “The Wayfinders,” writes of polynesian tribes who sail hundreds of nautical miles in the barest of oceans, without modern radars and GPS, just using their senses and minds. What more can we discover about others, and ultimately, ourselves?

It’s the discovery of these either forgotten or ancient forms of knowledge that drives me forward.
